INTENTIONS

Do you lie in bed just thinking when you’ve
Gone to bed quite late
That tomorrow i’ll go earlier,
I’ll try at any rate
When tomorrow comes you oversleep
And make a solemn vow
Tonight I’ll have an early night
I’ll try to anyhow
When night arrives you watch T.V.
And get hooked on the soaps
“tomorrow”you say solemnly
then someone says “some hopes”
enough of this,enough of life’s pretentions
I’ve heard tell that the road to hell is paved
