Childhood

From childhood on when knowledge starts to permiate your soul
That’s when your personality really starts to play a role
And when the world outside you’re starting to explore
Your parents observing you say “He’s been here before”
You then start to identify the spoken word with things you see
And start to join up sentences then learn your A.B.C.
And further on along the road you find, that life’s neither just nor kind
The meek will inherit the earth the scriptures always said
But the only earth the meek will get is six feet when they’re dead
What ye sow shall ye reap the philosophers would cry
But all the humble do get back is a piece of humble pie
