Two little gnomes dressed all in green,
played midst’ the foliage by a garden stream.
Came two tiny fairies with gossamer wings.
their hair all a glitter, two bright little things.
One gnome looked up at their wings with a sigh,
said I wish we could fly ,up there in the sky.
But as one little fairy fluttered by so serene,
said I’ll swop you my wings for your nice suit of green.
That’s why little fairies can scarcely be seen,
when wearing the gnome’s little suits of grass green.
One day if you spot butterflies wearing green boots,
it could be the gnomes without their green suits..
